It took 900 hours to create this insane nail art

Just when you thought nail art was dead.

On Wednesday, whimsical fashion brand, The Blonds, sent one of the most impressive nail art displays down the runway at New York fashion week. Created in partnership with CND, the nails took 12 artists and nearly 900 hours to create. The results were pretty incredible.

The show was inspired by a mashup of Alice in Wonderland and 1950s Hollywood, with the nails taking viewers on “a trip down the rabbit hole.”

“At CND, we choose to collaborate with designers who share our passion for breaking the mold, and The Blonds continue to be true artistic partners season after season,” said CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “CND’s Winter 2016 trend story evokes glitter glam, dazzling jewel tones and red carpet couture, and this was the perfect opportunity to tell that story with a trippy twist!”

The 22 designs feature off the shelf CND products including Retention Liquid & Powder, Brisa Gel, Shellac, Vinylux and CND Additives as well as more unconventional adornments, including ribbon, feathers, foils, sequins, metal, faux fur, crystals and stones.

“The nails are such an important part of the overall story. It’s so exciting to see what absolute MAGIC CND comes up with each season,” said Designer Phillipe Blond.
