Netflix's Too Hot to Handle got us through lockdown 1.0, so we're buzzing for the second series. Here's what you need to know, from release date to the new trailer.
If you haven't watched the first series yet, fire up the TV and get to it. It's Netflix's Love Island-esque reality dating show set in an unbelievably luxurious villa in Mexico. Everyone's really attractive and they're all competing to win $100,000. The catch is that the couples aren't allowed to have sexual contact at all, and lose money when they do. Who knew that hot people trying to abstain from sex for obscene amounts of cash would entertain us all so much, but apparently it has. And now we're hankering after another series.
Here's everything we know about Too Hot to Handle season 2...
Is there a Too Hot To Handle season 2 trailer?
Certainly is! Watch it above.
When can we expect Too Hot to Handle season 2 to launch?
In an announcement video, Netflix revealed Too Hot To Handle season 2's 10 episodes will land in two batches next month:
Episodes 1-4: 23rd June
Episodes 5-10: 30th June
They also revealed a new show synopsis, which reads: "The world's hottest no dating dating show is back with ten sexy new singles. Anyone who dares to break the rules of no kissing, no heavy petting, and no self-gratification of any kind will see the $100,000 prize drop faster than our contestants’ libido in the least sexy vacation getaway of their lives.
When was the second season of Too Hot to Handle announced?
On 27 January the nice people over at Netflix finally confirmed season 2 (and three). “The secret is out — we’re thrilled to bring back Too Hot to Handle for two new seasons in a tropical paradise," Netflix VP Brandon Riegg said. "Netflix members around the world fell in love with the hilarious antics of season one, and now fans won’t have to wait long to see our new contestants try (and fail) to follow Lana’s strict rules with plenty of twists and surprises along the way.”
Will Too Hot to Handle stay the same in season 2?
While season 1 was filmed in Mexico, season 2 and three will be filmed in a new location: the Turks and Caicos Islands. In a recent interview with People, producer Louise Peet discussed other potential changes to aspects of the show, saying that the pricing structure may change for a second series.
"We knew that the infractions had to be fair and uniform across the board," she said. "So a kiss was always $3,000, but maybe in another [season], if another happens, then it could be another amount. There are no set rules. It's not a price list, inflation could affect it. We just don't know!"
Nothing says sexy like inflation eh?
Plus, new for season 2 Netflix is releasing a brand new YouTube companion series, Too Hot To Handle: Extra Hot, hosted by season 1's Chloe Veitch. Episode 1 sees Chloe and fellow S1 castmates Nicole and David meeting the cast of the upcoming second season. Plus, later in the series Chloe will chat with the S2 contestants about what really went on in that villa and to get their perspective on everything that happened after they left the show.
Great news for those of us who just can't get enough THTH (a.k.a all of us).
Who will star in Too Hot To Handle season 2?
In mid-June, Netflix revealed the cast heading onto the show, and it's safe to say they're in for a wild ride.
