This year's Fashion Awards will return in a big way, heading back to the Royal Albert Hall this November, where fashion's finest will fly into town – and where a number of big names will be celebrated.

And, we now also have our first glimpse of what to expect at this year's event with the British Fashion Council confirming that Tommy Hilfiger will be honoured with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

The American designer will be awarded for his outstanding contribution to the global fashion industry, and his continued commitment to creating an inclusive brand that champions people from all backgrounds and experience.

"As the designer and founder of one of the world’s most recognised lifestyle companies, Hilfiger is driven by an ever-optimistic vision to break conventions and celebrate individuality," the BFC statement read. "From innovative partnerships and celebrity endorsements, to fostering inclusion and diversity in the fashion industry, and pioneering sustainable initiatives, he has been one of the most influential leaders of the last two centuries, and an inspiration to the future generation."

"We are thrilled to be honouring Tommy Hilfiger with the Outstanding Achievement Award," Caroline Rush, the BFC's chief executive added. "With over 35 years in the business, his contribution to the fashion industry is indeed outstanding."

"His brand brings fashion and pop culture together and his efforts to change the world for the better combined with his tenacity, collaborations and instinct is what truly sets him apart. We look forward to celebrating with him in London in November."

The Fashion Awards, which last year had to be moved online due to lockdown restrictions, which saw the winners being honoured via a video instead, will this year return to its full glamorous format, but will also expand on a more global scale. According to the BFC, this year's 2021 event will celebrate fashion’s global impact and its role at the intersection of culture.
