Tom Parker's widow Kelsey Hardwick made sure Father's Day was a celebration for their young children.

The Wanted singer tragically died from a brain tumour in March at only 33.

As well as his music, he left behind his legacy in the form of daughter Aurelia, two, and son Bodhi, 20 months.

Over the weekend, they experienced their first Father's Day without Tom, but Kelsey made sure there was plenty to smile about.

"I think for us this year Father's Day will just be celebrating Tom and talking about Tom and I just want everything to be a celebration for the children," she told OK! magazine.

"Aurelia's nursery school has asked me about making cards and they said, 'We know she will be able to cope with making a card' and she talks about her dad to them, so I'm more than happy for her to make a card for her dad."

And Kelsey, who wed Tom in 2018, nine years after they first met, is already bracing herself for future Father's Days, when she knows it will be tougher on her children as they understand the significance of the date.

"In years to come, I think it will get harder for the children. This year where they're young and they don't really understand it, in years to come we will make it a celebration," she shared.

"It will be hard for me, but for the children, I don't think it will be as hard this year. As they get older they'll ask more questions about Father's Day."
