Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson are 'moving on' after their split

11th May 2020: Days after news emerged Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson had split up in April, sources say the pair are officially "moving on". ICYMI, Cara and Ashley broke up at the beginning of last month after two years together. According to People magazine, there was no drama. "Cara and Ashley always had their ups and downs before but it’s over now. Their relationship just ran its course," a source said.

Giving an update on where they're at now, another source has told E! News Ashley has moved out of Cara's place and is staying with pals, and that they're officially "moving on".

The insider also said the former couple hadn't had "a lot of contact" since the split and "feel like it's over and it's better if they go their own ways."

Sad news. We hope they're both doing OK.

1st May 2018: Where it all started. Cara and Ashley were papped leaving a Lauryn Hill concert together at the Apollo Theatre in New York. Up until this point, Cara had been linked to Paris Jackson, but as the Mail Online points out: "Cara's rumoured girlfriend Paris Jackson was not with the duo on the outing."

3rd May 2018: A few days later, the 28-year-old Pretty Little Liars star posts an obligatory blurry car selfie with the 26-year-old supermodel on her Instagram page.

20th May 2018: A few weeks on and Ashley posts a picture of herself with Cara and another friend posing in a lift, and fans go WILD...

Not only that, but a fan later reveals that Cara and Ashley were putting on PDAs at Saturday Night Live together and ponders: What is life? We ask: Where's the picture?

26th May 2018: Cara and Ashley hang out with actress Amber Heard and model Adwoa Aboha in New York.

27th May 2018: The pair enjoy a casual cuddle behind a parking meter in West Hollywood, as captured by nearby paparazzi.

28th July 2018: After a few months of the couple disappearing from social media and the tabloids - they're back together again, this time on dancer and social media influencer Tati McQuay's Insta stories...

29th July 2018: Cara and Ashley are filmed doing some enthusiastic karaoke together at their friend Jamie Mizhrahi's birthday party.

7th August 2018: The girls enjoy a spa day and an iced coffee together, with the Mail observing Cara's "colourful socks".

8th August 2018: Ashley poses for a sultry selfie and she's wearing a necklace with Cara's initial on it...

14th August 2018: Pictures of Cara and Ashley, still wearing her gold necklace with Cara's initial, arriving at Heathrow and queuing for a cab (they're just like us really) are published in the Daily Mail...

We've also spotted that the pair have a film coming out this year co-starring Elisabeth Moss and Dan Stevens called Her Smell, so perhaps they met on set.

27th August 2018: Ashley comments for the first time on her rumoured relationship with Cara by saying, well, not very much at all, tbh...

In an interview with People Now, Ashley hinted that we shouldn’t expect them to be walking a red carpet anytime soon: “I think it’s the best way in any relationship. I’ve always been very private about them, and I think it’s just better.

“I mean it’s hard, I don’t know, you kind of can’t get away from that if you’re in the public eye,” she said. “I just kinda try to keep myself as private as possible.”

She added: “That’s one good thing about living in New York — I can live kind of a normal lifestyle... in L.A., the paparazzi are really bad, but here I can kind of just walk anywhere and not be bothered."

11th September 2018: Ashley Benson confirms that she and Cara Delevingne are in fact an item!

Cara posted a photo of her at a Q&A for her and Ashley’s new film, Her Smell, on Instagram. And under the snap of Cara, Ashley simply wrote, “mine”.

There were also spotted being all cosy during the event. So damn cute.

12th September 2018: Hold that thought... turns out Ashley's Instagram was hacked, so it probably wasn't her who posted the comment. How disappointing.

She posted an Instagram Story revealing the truth.

29th September 2018: Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson are spotted together at Paris Fashion Week.

People reports that Ashley was sitting front row at the Balmain show at Paris Fashion Week — you know, the one that Cara walked in? Eek!

5th March 2019: Ashley hangs out with Cara's sister Poppy as they support the model at Chanel's Paris Fashion Week Show.

Keeping it in the family, Ashley shared a selfie from the back of a taxi alongside Cara's older sister Poppy. The pair were later both spotted watching Cara from the audience, in what was Karl Lagerfeld's last Chanel show following his death last week.

6th March 2019: Cara and Ashely celebrate Cara walking in the Karl Lagerfeld Paris Fashion Week show by cuddling up in a rare PDA on Instagram.

Fashion stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, shared the sweet moment on Instagram, and captioned it "cuddle puddle".

28th March 2019: Cara Delevingne appeared on Ru Paul's podcast What's The Tee and god super candid about her sex life. "That whole courting process of power is very interesting," she commented. "And it’s a difference with men and women. I’m always very submissive with men. Always. But with women, I’m the opposite."

Cara also spoke about what she's like in a relationship and during sex, saying she's good at "giving love and not at receiving it". She added, "I’m the same in bed. I find it quite difficult to receive pleasure and love and things like that, so I love to give. I can allow pleasure but it’s hard to find that person. I have found them before, for sure."

8th April 2019: Ashley shares a photo from the set of Her Smell, the new film about a talented but self-destructive musician, played by Elizabeth Moss, which she and Cara co-star in.

30th May 2019: Cara and Ashley are pictured buying a sex bench, and Twitter is LIVING for it. Daily Mail reckons the very sex bench is worth £360 and called The Master Series Faux Leather Sex Bench with Adjustable Restraints.

15th June 2019: We've been pretty invested in the Cara/Ashley situ since it all began last May, but here's the thing: the couple hadn't actually confirmed they were, well, a couple until... right now.

In celebration of the month of Pride, Cara Delevingne posted a clip of herself and Ashley kissing from the film they both star in, Her Smell, along with heart emojis, rainbows, and heart-eye emojis. In response, Ashley posted three hearts. THREE HEARTS! So yeah, we're taking this Instagram-official stamp as full confirmation (finally!) of their relationship.

18th June 2019: Cara pays tribute to Ashley while receiving an award at the TrevorLIVE New York Gala.

“I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are.

“She’s one of the people who helped me love myself when I need it most and I really needed it.

“She showed me what real love is and showed me how to accept it, which was a lot harder than I thought. I love you, Sprinkles.”

23rd July 2019: Fans have been speculating that Ashley has had Cara's initial tattooed near her ribcage, as she revealed a subtle inking of "CD" in a promotional shot for her new line of sunglasses on Instagram.

24th July 2019 - Just days after Ashley unveiled a tattoo dedicated to Cara, fans are only just noticing that Cara also has a tribute to girlfriend Ashley on her chest.

During an appearance on the red carpet at the TrevorLIVE New York Gala on June 17 2019, Cara wore a white sheer dress, which showed off the 'A' tattoo under her left boob.

Cute.

12th August 2019 - After fans went wild for Ashley and Cara's tattoos dedicated to each other, Ashley unveiled another inking inspired by her girlfriend. This is too much.

The tattoo, which reads 'Squish', is a nickname the pair alluded to earlier this year when Cara uploaded a childhood shot of herself with the caption, 'Once a squish, always a squish'. Ashley replied, 'squishy.'

The artist, @jonboytattoo, tagged both Cara and Ashley in the photo of Ashley's new tattoo, and wrote "I love love" in the caption, hammering home that it's very much a tattoo dedicated to their relationship. So cute!

15th August 2019: Cara Delevingne opens up about her relationship with Ashley Benson; saying they "weren't looking" for love when they met.

She told Marie Claire about them meeting on the set of Alex Ross Perry’s Her Smell.

"We weren’t looking for it [love]," the model and actress said. "It was really just very authentic and natural."

She also spoke about her sexuality. She said she spent years denying her attraction to women because she "didn’t want to feel different, even though from an early age I always felt I didn’t belong."

9th September 2019: While most eyes were on Meghan Markle during the US Open, Cara and Ashley were also in New York to watch Serena Williams in the final against Bianca Andrescu - and they couldn't resist sneaking a little kiss in between sets.

The couple seemed super loved-up together, and were pictured laughing, shouting animatedly at the game and cuddling up to one another.

We love seeing how happy they are!

November 4 2019: Cara Delevingne has revealed she’s missing Ashley after the pair enjoyed a trip to China together. Aww!

The Carnival Row star shared a snap of them looking all in love on their travels and wrote: "Miss you already choonchi @ashleybenson."

Chelsea Handler joked in response: "I’m with her now. She’s fine."

6th December 2019: Ashley Benson shared a gorge semi-nude snap to Instagram and girlfriend Cara Delevingne was quick to give it her seal of approval.

Posting to her 20 million IG followers, the Pretty Little Liars actress uploaded a black and white photo of her dressed in nothing more than a pair of black boots and a jacket hanging off her right shoulder.

"😵," The Marvelous Mrs Maisel actress Rachel Brosnahan commented under the shot, and Cara replied, "Tell me about it."

"@caradelevingne ♥️ I love you," Ashley wrote back.

Cute.

9th December 2019: A tweet shared from Cara Delevingne's Twitter account claimed she had broken up from Ashley Benson, but we can all calm down because it definitely appeared to be a hacker.

As well as the break up tweet, they also posted a dubious link to iPhones.

Not long after, all the messages had been removed and relationship balance restored. Neither Cara or Ashley commented on the post themselves.

The rogue tweet came just days after Cara left a cheeky comment on a semi-nude snap Ashley had shared on Instagram.

11th December 2019: Putting any break up rumours to rest, Ashley Benson confirmed she and Cara Delevingne are still very much together.

Two days after the hacking drama, which saw a tweet go out from Cara's account saying, "Me and Ashley broke up," Ashley posted a snap of herself at a Christmas market in Germany.

"Did you break up with Cara?" a fan asked under the shot, to which she replied "Nope."

So that's that, guys.

18th December: Cara Delevingne paid the sweetest tribute to Ashley Benson to mark her 30th birthday. The model posted a series of cute snaps of them together, including one of them kissing in a bathtub and another of them enjoying a hot air balloon ride.

Cara wrote: "Happy birthday @ashleybenson There is so much I could say but something I love and cherish most about us is that I don’t need to because YOU KNOW and that’s all that matters. It’s you and me which is my favourite. My safe place. You let me be silly, you let me be wild, you keep me free, secure and curious."

She went on: "I feel like I’ve known you my entire life and I am so proud of watching you grow into the woman that you always dreamt of being. I love you beyond words my sprinkles, choonchi, angel face, grumpy ass, sweet cheeks, never boring, buttmunch, Benson."

The tribute comes a week after a hacker took over Cara's account and tweeted a post saying the pair had broken up. So, yeah. Take that, hacker.
