  • Starbucks has announced the Pumpkin Spiced Latte's release date, plus a new Starbucks Rewards programme.

  • While we're still clinging onto summer, the coffee shop is here to catapult you into cold weather with their wintery warmers.

You might still be desperately hoping that the warm temperatures aren't over yet, but autumn is officially on its way. And by 'officially', we mean Starbucks have announced it's almost Pumpkin Spice Latte season!

Autumn actually kicks in on 22 September, but we can say it officially starts when you can get your hands on your favourite coffee of the season - 25th September. Pumpkin Spice Lattes, we're ready for you.

PSL fans will be able to get their hands on their favourite drink, made with a combination of Starbucks Espresso Roast, pumpkin pie flavoured sauce and steamed milk, topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices – cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

This year, Starbucks is also introducing a new Starbucks Rewards programme. Key rewards include every penny you spend counting towards a free purchase, a free drink during your birthday month and access to the rewards scheme on the app. There, you can customise your drink, order ahead to skip the queue, and pay using contactless.

Speaking about the new programme, Alex Rayner, general manager Starbucks UK said, "Starbucks Rewards has always been and will always be about appreciating our most loyal customers and the new Starbucks Rewards programme responds to the most frequent feedback we’ve received from members over the years – to earn Stars for what they spend rather than how often they visit.

"The new programme is part of a wider transformation we have underway to integrate the physical instore experience with digital innovation. With Starbucks Rewards being hosted via our App, members can earn Rewards while also customising their beverage exactly to their taste, ordering ahead to skip the queue and paying contactlessly."
