Tim McGraw stunned by Faith Hill's 'real' slap during 1883 scene

Tim McGraw was stunned by Faith Hill's "real" slap while they were filming a scene for TV show 1883.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, the country music star revealed that he was "blown away" by his wife's performance in the series, which is a prequel to Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone.

However, Tim revealed that he wasn't expecting Faith, whom he has been married to since 1996, to really slap him in one particularly dramatic sequence.

"There was a scene that we did where she had to slap me. It was a real slap. We talked about it before, (we said), 'We don't want to do a TV slap, we want to do a real slap.' But after about the eighth take when I was concussed, I told her afterward, 'Do we need to talk? Is there something going on I don't know about?'" he recalled. "I was expecting a good finger slap - it was a palm. It was like Rocky hitting me."

1883, also starring Sam Elliott, was released on Paramount+ earlier this year.
