Dsquared2 designers and twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten presented a high-wattage fashion show in Milan Tuesday night to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary, inviting several famous friends to walk their runway. That includes some of the most famous names of the 1990s supermodel era — Naomi Campbell, Tyson Beckford and Isabeli Fontana, among them — but amid the show’s nightclub-like setting, the audience was most thrilled when Doechii emerged from a prop armored truck to walk the runway while “Nissan Altima” kicked in on the soundtrack. The finale wrapped with actress Brigitte Nielsen dressed as a police officer, “arresting” the Caten brothers as they took their bows. The show then transitioned into an after-party, which included a performance by Doechii and rapper JT.
Timothée Chalamet Wears GapStudio to the Academy Dinner
Since Zac Posen signed on as Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director in February 2024, he’s been doing a great job at elevating the brand beyond its previous tees-and-jeans status. A version of the white shirtdress that Anne Hathaway wore to a Bulgari event in May sold out immediately, so it’s a sure bet anything that comes close to what Timothée Chalamet wore Tuesday night will do the same. The best actor nominee for A Complete Unknown arrived at the Academy Awards Nominee Dinner in Posen’s first custom menswear look for the brand’s GapStudio label, consisting of an Icon Jacket and Loose Jean, both in black duchess satin, and a Classic Tee in black silk jersey. (Chalamet paired the look with a Cartier necklace and ring as an ambassador of the jewelry house.) “In the 1960s, Bob Dylan dropped an American anthem with Like a Rolling Stone, and by 1969, Gap was selling jeans and records in its first store — two moments that shaped and bridged culture gaps for generations to come,” Posen said in a statement. “The parallels, the energy, and the synergy inspired me to reimagine GapStudio’s first men’s look on a cultural icon like Timothée.”
Iconic Style from Anouk Aimée’s Estate Headed for the Auction Block
Fashion designed by Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Emanuel Ungaro are among the 130 lots that are up for auction from the estate of Anouk Aimée. The legendary actress, who died in Paris on June 18, 2024, was a style fan and collector beloved by designers, and now her daughter, actress Manuela Papatakis, is working with Paris auction house Penelope’s on a sale of fashion and accessories — an idea suggested by her mother, a statement from Penelope’s notes. Among the highlights of “Anouk Aimée – Extracts of an Allure: Between Elegance & Nonchalance”: a coat Aimée wore in 1966’s A Man and a Woman, a Chanel suit from Fall/Winter 1956 and a red Yves Saint Laurent wrap dress the actress wore while performing the play Love Letters in Paris. The online sale will open to bids Feb. 28 on the Drouot.com auction platform and will close on March 10.
Patrick Schwarzenegger is wearing an Hublot watch on The White Lotus
Among the indicators that Mike White’s The White Lotus is hotter than ever is that placements of high-end brands are popping up like crazy. From the Jimmy Choo Josh drivers worn by Jason Isaacs to the Marie France Van Damme caftan worn by Leslie Bibb, the season three characters seem to love designer style. And regardless of how you feel about Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Saxon, he brings game to his watch choices, seen in the first two episodes sporting Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Black Magic, which features a self-winding chronograph flyback movement with skeleton dial in a 44mm case crafted of microblasted and polished black ceramic. From the look of photos from future episodes, the $23,000 timepiece may not be the only watch Saxon has brought on his trip, but as it’s water-resistant to 100 meters, it’s perfect for all the swimming he’s been doing in episodes one and two.
Louis Vuitton Debuts a Collection of Easter Chocolates
Who needs milk chocolate bunnies and marshmallow Peeps when you can celebrate Easter with luscious sweets by Louis Vuitton? The French label’s latest seasonal collection of limited-edition chocolate eggs designed by Maxime Frédéric, the celebrated pastry chef of the Hotel Cheval Blanc in Paris, includes a new entry for 2025: a “Chocolate Egg Bag” inspired by a popular accessory design created by Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections, for his Spring 2019 collection. Frédéric has crafted the bag’s shells in 70 percent dark chocolate, which is also embossed in the label’s iconic Monogram print, while its “zipper pulls” and handles are rendered in 40 percent milk chocolate; a milk chocolate bar filled with a hazelnut chocolate filling is placed inside the bag. Traditional chocolate eggs, available in three different flavors, also will be offered in three- and six-piece boxes. Visit louisvuitton.com for more information and to place online and in-store orders beginning March 24.
