This Morning has revealed its replacements for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as the presenters enjoy their summer break.

Friday presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will now be taking on the bulk of the hosting duties from Monday through to Thursday, while Friday will be handed over to a roster of famous faces.

Rochelle Humes, who is expecting her third child, will take charge of the next two Friday programmes alongside Ore Oduba.

Dermot O'Leary will then join the line-up on Friday 31 July, hosting shows in August alongside Alison Hammond, who will in turn team up with Humes for some instalments.

It comes as O'Leary has recently welcomed his first child with wife Dee Koppang O'Leary, a son named Kasper.

This Morning’s editor Martin Frizell said: “We’ve been inundated with viewers’ positive feedback throughout lockdown on how This Morning has provided that much needed comfort blanket each day.

"As the nation eases itself out of lockdown over the summer, we promise to continue to bring viewers more of what they trust us to do best – reflecting their real lives at home and what matters to them most.”

There have been other changes to ITV's morning and daytime schedule, with Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan also on a summer break.

Kate Garraway has returned to the show in a presenting capacity for the first time in months following her husband Derek Draper's ill-health and hospitalisation from the coronavirus. Last week she said she's going back to her day job after doctors urged her to do so.

Elsewhere, Lorraine Kelly temporarily moved to the GMB studios when the pandemic put restrictions on filming her self-titled show.

However, from Monday she returned to the Lorraine studio to present from her own studio as usual.
