Ever wondered how your life compares to the rest of the country? Whether you’re having more, or less, sex than your peers, if your Friday night bottle of skinny Prosecco is considered excessive or how your ‘magic’ number (winking emoji) matches up to everyone else?

Well wonder no more, as a new study has revealed a detailed analysis of the UK’s lifestyle habits and it makes for pretty interesting reading. The survey, by cashback site Quidco , looked at the lifestyle habits of almost 2,000 Brits and revealed the average life by numbers.

When it comes to the nation’s bedroom antics we’re a raunchy lot with the average Brit having sex a total of 5,778 times before they die. Exhausting!

On the romance front we’ll fall in love an average of six and a half times in our 83 years of life, and have eight romantic partners. Sadly, we’ll have our heart broken a fair bit as we can expect to be dumped an average of five and a half times and clock up six unrequited loves. *sad face*

According to the report we’ll spend 181,770 hours catching some ZZZs – that’s 20.8 years of shut eye – work for 136,328 hours (15.6 years), take 2,689 selfies and spend an average of 52,502 hours, that’s six whole years of our lives, on social media. Addicted much?

As for our spending habits, it seems we’re blowing a large portion of our wages on booze as the average Brit will spend a whopping £66,732 on alcohol, possibly during the 3,386 trips we’ll take to the pub. As a result we’ll suffer a painful 1.793 hangovers.

But just as we love a night on the tiles, we also embrace our inner sloth and will spend 103,003 hours, that’s almost 12 whole years, glued to the TV, with a further 33,335 hours spent binge watching Game of Thrones, Ray Donovan et al.

Thankfully, once we’ve indulged in some serious lounging we’ll get our fitness on and exercise outside of the gym on 7,171 separate occasions.

We’re not afraid to splash the cash on beautifying ourselves spending £17,181 on haircuts and having 1,394 beauty treatments. And with 7,370 films, 3,685 outings with friends and 174 holidays to look forward to - it’s hardly surprising we’ll enjoy an average of 16 “good days” a month.

Doing things we love keeps us in a good frame of mind too, with 88% saying “life is good” and a further 84% saying they are “generally happy” with their lifestyle.

On the flipside, the data also suggests the average Brit will cry 2,490 times and have 2,888 arguments during their lifetime. Nothing a good cup of tea can’t sort though, with 17,031 cups of tea drunk over the years.

Speaking about the findings, a spokeswoman for Quidco said: “When the number of hours add up it can seem like everyday tasks are taking over. Who wants to spend 20 years of their lives asleep?

“However, it is very reassuring that we Brits consider more than half of our days every month to be good ones.”
