We’ve all seen henna tattoos before, but we guarantee you’ve never seen anything quite as incredible as Sarah Walters’ work.

The artist, and owner of brand Sarahenna, creates intricate henna crowns for women who have lost their hair during chemotherapy, in a bid to help each woman fighting cancer feel beautiful.

The young artist started experimenting with the Indian design back in 2008 and explains, “I love henna as a unique art form, and also as a way of connecting with people.”

Each design Sarah creates is freehand using her homemade henna paste. Therefore, no design is the same and also helps to reflect each individuals personality and style.

Sarah’s art is also very close to her heart as she lost her stepdad to cancer in 2004. She then started testing out her henna crowns on her mum’s friend who was undergoing chemo in 2010.

Since then, she has dedicated her time to creating a unique experience for chemotherapy patients.

Her intricate designs help these women to feel confident again. She explains to Metro, “In the same way that you feel a boost of self-confidence leaving a salon with a fresh hairstyle, a henna crown provides a similar experience.”
