The Conjuring
The 2013 film is based on the experiences of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren and follows the couple as they try to save a family living in a haunted house. Vera Farmiga, who played Lorraine, revealed in an episode of ‘E! True Hollywood Story’, that eerie creatures was present during the making of the movie. She said: "When I opened my computer…there were there were three digital claw marks. After we got back from North Carolina, where we filmed, the same claw marks appeared on my thigh."©BANG Showbiz - 3/11
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson and Jennifer Carpenter starred in Scott Derrickson's 2005 film that revolves around a teenager being chased by demon forces. It wasn't the only scary event as Jennifer's radio turned on randomly at night when she was filming. She told Dread Central: "Two or three times when I was going to sleep my radio came on by itself. The only time it scared me was once because it was really loud, and it was Pearl Jam's 'Alive.'" Derrickson later confirmed that the story was true on his Twitter account.©BANG Showbiz - 4/11
The Shining
Shelley Duvall played the role of Wendy Torrance - the wife of Jack (Jack Nicholson) - in Stanley Kubrick’s classic picture but it turned into something of a horror story off screen as she was driven to the brink of madness while making the film. In David Hughes’ book ‘The Complete Kubrick’, Shelley recalled: "From May until October I was really in and out of ill health because the stress of the role was so great. Stanley pushed me and prodded me further than I’ve ever been pushed before. It’s the most difficult role I’ve ever had to play." Producer Peter Safran and director John R. Leonetti both claimed that the set of the 2014 flick was haunted. Safran said: “The first day that the demon was shooting in full makeup, we brought the demon up in the elevator. He walks out and walks around to the green room to where we’re holding the talent, and just as he walks under—a giant glass light fixture is being followed by the actor playing the handyman of the building—and all of a sudden the entire glass light fixture falls down on his head, the janitor‘s head. The Exorcist
The 1973 film is famously seen as "cursed" as deaths, fire and injuries are all associated with the project. Production on William Friedkin's film was shut down for several weeks after a fire that was caused by a bird flying into a circuit breaker while stars Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair both suffered spinal injuries while filming violent scenes. The deaths of several people are associated with the movie, including actor Jack MacGowan - who passed away from influenza shortly after completing his work as Burke Dennings in the picture. Rosemary’s Baby
Roman Polanski's 1968 film 'Rosemary's Baby' had chilling consequences It told the story of a young woman who believes she is being groomed by her elderly neighbours so they can use her baby in Satanic rituals. Following the movie's release, producer William Castle received an abusive anonymous letter that said he would “slowly rot during a long and painful illness." He then began experiencing painful kidney stones and suffered from ill health until his death in 1977. Meanwhile, Polanski's wife Sharon Tate and her unborn son were murdered by members of the Manson Family Cult a year after the film's release.©BANG Showbiz - 8/11
The Nun
The film's director Corin Hardy claims that ghosts were present on set during the making of the 2018 film. He told CinemaBlend: “As I went into the room I see these two guys from the crew you know, probably sound department, just sort of sitting a little further back in the dark. Twilight Zone: The Movie
Vic Morrow starred in the 1983 film ‘Twilight Zone: The Movie’ but was killed along with two child actors after a helicopter crash on set. The spooky thing about the case is that the Morrow had ‘predicted’ his death the year before, as he took out a $5 million life insurance policy and told his friends that he had a bad feeling that something was going to happen to him in an upcoming project.©BANG Showbiz - 10/11
Poltergeist
‘Poltergeist’ is the cult horror that went on to spawn a number of sequels and a remake. Child star Heather O’Rourke played the central character of Carol Anne Freeling - famous for her "They're heeere!" catchphrase - in the original trilogy of films. Tragically, she passed away at the age of 12 in 1998 shorty after finishing work on 'Poltergeist III'. She suffered two cardiac arrests and the cause of death was ruled as congenital stenosis of the intestine complicated by septic shock. Several other stars suffered untimely deaths - including Dominique Dunne who was strangled by her ex-boyfriend in 1982.©BANG Showbiz - 11/11
The Omen
The 1976 film had one of the most cursed productions in movie history. Actor Gregory Peck's plane was struck by lightning on his way to filming while special effects expert John Richardson was later involved in a car accident that left his passenger dead in spookily similar circumstances to the film.
