Congratulations and jubilations are in store for one lesser known royal couple, Flora Ogilvy and Timothy Vesterberg, who followed in Princess Beatrice's footsteps and got married mid-pandemic last weekend.

Flora is one of a generation of young royals you might be less familiar with, but she's the granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, Queen Elizabeth's first cousin. Currently, Flora sits 56th in line to the throne (okay, okay, she's never going to be Queen, but she's a hell of a lot closer in lineage to the throne than I'll ever be), but she'll be bumped down a place early next year with the arrival of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's baby, who will slot in as 11th in line.

Another fun fact about Flora's royal lineage is that technically she should have been 55th in line to the throne, seeing as she was born before her brother, Alexander. But as the archaic rules of succession, which prioritised men over women regardless of birth order, were still in place when Flora was born back in 1994, she was moved down a place following the birth of her brother two years later.

But back to the wedding. Flora, who like many of her royal relatives works in the art world, married her financier partner Timothy Vesterberg at St James's Palace last Saturday. Posting on Instagram, the bride shared a photograph of herself and her new husband smiling on their big day, captioned: "Timothy and I were married privately at Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace on Saturday 26th September. We are truly overjoyed and look forward to celebrating next year."

The venue is the same location chosen by Prince William and Kate Middleton for their youngest son, Prince Louis' christening in July 2018.

It's not known if the couple originally planned to get married last weekend, or whether they brought the nuptials forward like so many other couples, to take place before the 30-person-wedding rule was restricted. Flora's Instagram post alludes to the fact the newlyweds plan to have a larger scale celebration next year, when hopefully the current social limitations will be lifted.

We don't know exactly who was on the guest list for Flora and Timothy's wedding, but it's more than likely to have included some of her royal relatives. Sadly, probably not the Queen or Prince Phillip, who are currently isolating together in Sandringham after spending the summer at their Balmoral Estate in Scotland.

For her big day, Flora wore a stunning square-neck, long-sleeved Emilia Wickstead dress, and she looked absolutely beaming. Congratulations to the happy royal couple!
