This year, wedding dresses have been taken to a whole new level. From Whistles’ debut bridal collection (yes, you can now buy a beautiful high street gown for your big day) to a wow-factor £18,000 frock, there’s been a lot going on in the world of wedding apparel.

Now all eyes are on Lebanese bride Dana Wolley Zayat’s couture gown by Esposa – and for good reason. The beaded masterpiece took over a year (yes, a whole year) to make, including a full two months on the beading alone.

The results are breathtaking and many have flooded her Instagram commenting that it’s ‘the dream dress’. However, this wouldn’t be the first time this year that a lavish wedding gown has sent the Internet into a frenzy.

20-year-old Khadija Uzhakhova hit headlines at the beginning of the year when she wed the son of Russian olgarch wearing an £18,000 wedding dress.

While we can all admit it’s an absolutely dreamy Elie Saab number it did also weigh a hefty 25lb, which is pretty darn heavy.

Uzhakhova was then later up-staged by Salome Kintsurashvili who wed Billionaire’s son Sargis Karapetyan.

Their wedding was definitely the most lavish of the year. It not only had J Lo and Enrique Iglesias perform but the brides glittery gown (also by Elie Saab) cost an eye watering $35,000 and was topped off with $200,000 of jewellery.

Well, if nothing else these ladies are proof that fairytales do come true and their marstpeice dresses are something to add to our Pinterest boards.
