If most of us choreographed a Beyoncé music video at the age of 15, we'd probably call it quits then and there because we've already achieved peak life goals. However, that's not the case for Teyana Taylor.

The Harlem-born choreographer has since gone on to star in music videos, become a movie star and, more recently, just released her third studio album. Just reading her CV is enough to make us feel a little exhausted.

Taylor's new record, titled The Album was released on Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the US, and features collaborations from Lauryn Hill to Missy Elliott. Safe to say, Taylor has pulled out the stops on this one.

As if releasing an album wasn't big enough, the singer has also launched her own limited edition collection in collaboration with MAC Cosmetics. 2020 just got way better.

The collection features all of Taylor's go-to beauty products, from gloss to pencils, all in unique neon packaging. A must-have for any MAC make-up collector.

ELLE sat down with the singer to discuss her MAC collab (which launches today FYI, so get on that fast), DIY skincare and her quarantine make-up tips...

My make-up routine...

...doesn't actually take me that long. It's honestly just my eyebrows, lashes and lips. I like to keep it quite natural but when I do my full make-up look it can take up to 45 minutes but it's very rare nowadays being stuck in this lovely quarantine.

I'm bad at...

...taking my make-up off. Before I get into bed and have to wipe my face down - I struggle with that. I get sleepy and all my control is gone.

My skincare routine...

...is very natural. I use black soap everyday and then maybe 2-4 times a week I'll use a bit of tea tree oil. I also love a coffee scrub to exfoliate a couple of times a week, you just leave it on for a minute and it just makes my skin so smooth. At night I'll seal it all in with a bit of coconut oil. I like to make my own lotions, with a bit of shea butter, vitamin E and coconut oil, to keep my skin super natural and glowy.

My best skincare tip is...

...take a scoop of collagen every day. I like to put it in with my berries or coffee or when I'm drinking tea at the studio and it just makes my skin so elastic.

My worst beauty habit is...

...picking off my lash extensions. I know that I shouldn't be doing it but I get individuals and there's something so soothing about it. Especially towards the end after a couple of weeks and they're about to fall off - I just can't help it.

The craziest thing I've done in the name of beauty is...

...going overboard with the blush. I've had some really bad experiences with it when walking a red carpet before I learnt the beauty of how make-up works up against flashlights. I didn't know that flash wasn't my best friend.

My greatest beauty discovery is...

...eyebrow pencils. You can do your whole face but if those brows are looking crazy, there's nothing you can do about it. The dope thing about them is you can also use a brow pencil as an eyeliner or lipliner, so that's a two-in-one right there. A brow pencil can take you a long way.

The best beauty lesson I've ever received is...

...less is more. The power of make-up is amazing. It can do everything, whether you want a simple look or a big look, you don't need loads of make-up on your face to achieve that.
