Texas law enforcement is searching for Juan Aguilar Cano
A 10-year-old boy is missing, his mother is dead and his father is on the run, Texas police tell PEOPLE.
Police believe that Ian Aguilar, 10, is with his father, and stated in an Amber Alert issued for the child – who has been missing since Tuesday morning – that they believe him to be in “grave or immediate danger.”
Ian was last seen Nov. 14 at 7:30 a.m. on the 20 block of Oakdale St. in Wilmer, Texas, according to his missing person poster issued by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children shortly after his disappearance.
The boy’s father, Juan Aguilar Cano, 38, is wanted by law enforcement, who have separate investigations into him on accusations of murder and abduction.
A source within the Wilmer Police Department tells PEOPLE that neither the father nor son had been located as of about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Aguilar Cano – who is 5-feet-7 inches tall and weighs 160 lbs., and has gauged ears — was last seen in Wilmer, which is about 16 miles outside of Dallas, and had been driving a tan 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe.
The Wilmer Police Department said in a post on Facebook Wednesday that the SUV had been located by law enforcement.
Ian’s mother – whose name the police department is not releasing – was found deceased by her daughter in the family’s Wilmer home, the police source says, adding that Ian was taken from the same home.
There were no previous calls of service to the home alerting law enforcement to potential domestic violence or any other problems, the source tells PEOPLE.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Department is investigating the mother’s death, according to the police source. That department could not be immediately reached by phone or email Thursday afternoon.
Anyone who has seen Ian or Aguilar Cano or who has information regarding the child’s abduction, is asked to call the Wilmer Police Department at 972-441-6565.
