Tessa Virtue knows that you never have to sacrifice comfort for style — especially when travelling.
On Friday, the 32-year-old ice dancer took to Instagram to share a photo of herself enjoying a sweet treat during her recent trip to Dublin. In the photo, Virtue mastered the art of dressing casual-cute in an oversized navy Be Nice Crewneck Sweatshirt from Sporty & Rich ($189 CAD/ $145 USD), high-waisted light wash jeans and a Toronto Maple Leafs baseball cap (Virtue's boyfriend is Leafs player Morgan Rielly).
"Be nice. Get lots of sleep. Drink plenty of water (And eat all of the gelato)," Virtue captioned the photo, referencing the motto emblazoned on her preppy-chic sweatshirt.
The sustainable sweatshirt and its simple adage epitomize Canadian designer Emily Oberg's vision for Sporty & Rich: "Be nice, drink water, be good to the planet, take care of yourself and live a life of pleasure."
The brand, which is headquartered in both Paris and Los Angeles, creates "simple" and "thoughtfully designed" pieces inspired by vintage luxury sportswear (think Princess Diana's infamous bike short look).
It's no surprise that Virtue would be a fan of a "hype brand" like Sporty & Rich. The three-time Olympic gold medalist is a fan of all things fashion and beauty related — and even graced the pages of Vogue Japan in 2018. The London, Ont. native has been making a name for herself off the ice as a spokesperson for brands like Nivea, Bon Look and MAC Cosmetics.

In 2020, Virtue collaborated with the internationally renowned makeup brand for a limited-edition lipstick. The former-figure skater told Yahoo Canada how her relationship with makeup has changed since hanging up her skates.
“I think when you put yourself out there and be vulnerable in front of many, many people, that sense of authenticity and self-worth comes down to expressing yourself with makeup. That was really something that was the cornerstone of the competition process. Now, since retiring, I am able to kind of continue that with different photoshoots and events,” she said. “Also, sort of strip back my makeup routine, so my everyday look is quite basic and I think people can kind of relate to the fact that as you get older that the less is more approach is often better.”
