Move over, Prosecco. There's something more exciting you can add to your weekly food shop now.

Tesco Extra has been announced as the first UK supermarket to stock Lovehoney sex toys.

Tesco is the first major UK supermarket to sell the sexual wellness brand's products, stocking a range of its sex toys and lubricants in 250 of its stores as part of an exclusive nationwide partnership.

The new deal also marks the first time Lovehoney has been able to showcase its sex toys in a major mainstream supermarket – an exciting move that fits with the company's aim to “normalise the use of sex toys and bring its sexual happiness message to a wider and wider audience.”

Other products on offer include Strawberry Flavoured Lubricant (£7.99), Excite 10 Function Silicone Rabbit Vibrator (£12.99), Excite 10 Function Bullet Vibrator (£12.99) and Excite Silicone Pleasure Balls (£12.99).

Get in there quick, as its popular products will only be sold for a limited time – until August 2022 – alongside Tesco's own-brand lubricant and other sexual wellness products from Durex and So Divine.

Lovehoney CCO Debbie Bond said on the collab, "We are delighted to be launching in Tesco; this partnership is very important as it represents the first time we are stocking sex toys in a supermarket.

"As the sexual happiness people, we believe that everyone should have a fun and fulfilling sex life, and we look forward to being able to share our fabulous product range with the Tesco customers."

This follows a boom in Lovehoney's online sales during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, as boredom led to an increase in 'self-love' with people wanting to,"keep themselves entertained". To meet the demand, Lovehoney recruited 70 more members of staff, rapidly growing the 340-strong team located at its Bath Base, according to Insider Media Ltd.

"Lockdown has really helped, because people were looking for things to do to keep themselves interested and entertained," explained Debbie Bond at the time. "A lot of people have had a lot of time on their hands that they hadn't had previously. We’ve definitely seen that people have taken this time to connect with each other."
