Houmous is one side dish, dip, spread (or whatever you want to call it) that I crave on a regular basis. It goes perfectly dipped with carrots, smothered inside a meaty gyros or simply with a warm slice of toasted pita bread. And it's my favourite kind of thing to have for lunch.
Now, there's plenty of houmous variations out there in the market including Red Pepper Houmous, Avocado Houmous, Caramelised Onion Houmous and more. But not once did I anticipate Marmite Houmous. That's right, a Marmite flavoured houmous exists and we're not sure how to feel about it...
Courtesy of Tesco, you can now get your hands on Marmite Houmous for a small price of £1.50 per 200g tub. Made with cooked chickpeas, tahini sesame seed paste, lemon juice, garlic purée and a good helping of Marmite, this actually sounds pretty darn delicious.
Whilst we're here, have you tried the Marmite Cream Cheese that launched in M&S a few months ago? According to M&S it's "the perfect combination of cool and light cream cheese mixed with that unmistakeable Marmite spread. The perfect pairing for a morning bagel, bowl of pasta or dolloped in top of a hot steaming bowl of tomato soup."
Not only that, the supermarket also started selling Marmite Butter. M&S suggests not only having it on toast or crumpets, but to sear your steak with it for the perfect salty sweet caramelisation. Or toss your roast potatoes in it for a flawless crunchy coating. You know, just have it on everything.
