Natalie Navarro and Yordy Martinez are accused of killing Arturo Peña
A Texas teen who was the subject of an AMBER Alert has been indicted on a capital murder charge, according to multiple reports.
Natalie Navarro, who turned 18 on Nov. 15, was initially arrested in connection with the murder of Arturo Peña in September. Peña was found shot to death in a car in Garland, Texas, on Aug. 29, PEOPLE previously reported. Also suspected of murder is 21-year-old Yordy Martinez, who has not been seen since the shooting.
The day before Navarro was arrested, an AMBER Alert had been issued for the teenager by Dallas Police, with authorities believing she was “in grave or immediate danger,” NBC DFW reported. Martinez was listed as the suspect in the abduction.
It is not immediately clear if Navarro has retained an attorney or entered a plea.
“I believe they knew each other, but I don’t know the extent of their relationship,” a police spokesperson previously told PEOPLE about Martinez and Navarro’s relationship.
Navarro is currently in custody in Dallas County, being held on a $1 million bond for the capital murder charge. She is also charged with possession of marijuana and carrying an unlicensed weapon.
A GoFundMe started by Peña’s girlfriend, Veronica Lopez, has raised just over $3,000.
“Our angel was viciously taken from his family and loved ones,” Lopez wrote in the description.
