Joe Alwyn may not have been able to be in New York City for his girlfriend Taylor Swift's big weekend performing on Saturday Night Live earlier this month, but E! reports that Swift made a special visit to Alwyn's film set to show her support of her partner. A source told the outlet, 'Taylor visited her boyfriend on the set of his movie.'

Alwyn is currently shooting The Stars at Noon in Panama, which began production in October, according to ScreenDaily. Alwyn replaced Taron Egerton, per Deadline, who 'had to leave the project due to personal reasons'.

Swift has purposely kept her relationship with Alwyn largely out of the public eye since they began dating in fall 2016. In May, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Swift sees a long-term future with the British actor.

'They grew closer than ever during the quarantine and she really trusts him,' the outlet's source said.

'They've been continuing to be pretty low-key about their relationship to the outside world to continue to protect it. They've discussed future plans and Taylor can see herself marrying Joe one day.'

Swift discussed her decision not to talk publicly about Alwyn back in August 2019 during an interview with The Guardian.

'I’ve learned that if I do [talk about my relationship], people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion,' she said with a laugh. 'If you and I were having a glass of wine right now, we’d be talking about it—but it’s just that it goes out into the world. That’s where the boundary is, and that’s where my life has become manageable. I really want to keep it feeling manageable.'
