It's been literally a day since Taylor Swift dropped her brand new surprise album, Folklore, and fans are already working at full-speed to figure out the meaning behind each and every song.
So far, they've spotted that the 'Cardigan' music video bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Harry Styles' 'Falling', to name just one. Meanwhile, others reckon Taylor's boyfriend Joe Alwyn secretly penned two of the tracks.
So. Much. Mystery.
And now, fans think they've cracked another case in the form of the song 'betty', which Swifties reckon is the name of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' third child.
First, for some backstory: Blake and Ryan have two daughters names James, 5, and Inez, 3, and they welcomed a third daughter last year whose name is yet to be revealed.
In what would be quite the coincidence if not somehow related to the Reynolds fam, Taylor's new song 'betty' includes the names of Blake and Ryan's oldest kids, James and Inez, in the lyrics. See for yourself:
"You heard the rumours from Inez
You can't believe a word she says
Most times, but this time it was true
The worst thing that I ever did
Was what I did to you"
Plus, the second lot of lyrics:
"She said "James, get in, let's drive"
Those days turned into nights
Slept next to her, but
I dreamt of you all summer long"
So, fans reckon if James and Inez are included then it only stands to reason that the other name in the song, Betty, must belong to their sibling.
I just realised that Blake Lively daughters are called James and Inez so is Betty her youngest daughter name???— jace⁷ | the 1 stan (@swifttothistae) July 24, 2020
Inez??? James??? What if Betty is the name of Blake Livelys third kid— abbey🦋 (@myidoltswift) July 24, 2020
Nothing has been confirmed or denied by Blake and Ryan, but if Betty is the name then it's a super cute choice, if you ask us.
Taylor and Blake have been close friends for years, with Blake's daughter James even appearing in Taylor's song 'Gorgeous', so it would make sense for Taylor to pay tribute to Blake's youngest daughter in a song too.
We haven't heard anything from Blake or Ryan yet, but we're sure given Ryan's track record on social media he'll find a creative way to respond.
Now, back to Folklore...
