GET ready to raise a stein and say “prost” when Oktoberfest Poole makes its debut this weekend.

Featuring traditional Bavarian food, live music, and German beer, Oktoberfest takes place in Poole Park on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, October 30.

Organisers said: “Oktoberfest Poole aims to recreate the world-renowned Munich event, providing locals and visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in German culture and celebrate everything Oktoberfest has to offer.”

The event takes place across three sessions; 6.30pm to 11pm on both days and also 12.30pm to 5.30pm on the Saturday.

Those attending will be able to enjoy traditional German delicacies including pretzels, bratwursts, sauerkraut, and schnitzels.

Meanwhile, live bands will be performing traditional oompah music, creating an ambiance that will transport attendees straight to the tents in Munich.

There will also be a variety of traditional Bavarian games such as axe throwing and Hammerschlagen to add a true competitive aspect to the event.
