Taron Egerton approves of hilarious Mumsnet review of his Richard Madden sex scene in Rocketman

Taron Egerton received his “best review” from a mum who shared her hilarious take on his sex scene with Richard Madden on Mumsnet.

Egerton and Madden play Sir Elton John and his manager and lover John Reid respectively in new biopic Rocketman.

One mum branded their intimate scene the “hottest thing” she has ever seen as she encouraged fellow parents to go and watch the film if they are feeling low.

“I’m having a s*** time atm, went to pictures to see Rocketman yesterday and found the sex scene between Taron Egerton and Richard Madden the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” she wrote.

“Seriously, if you’re a menopausal old hound looking for a boost in the fanjo, go and watch this on a loop.”

New York Times film reporter, Kyle Buchanan, read the review to Egerton and claimed the star “died laughing”.

He tweeted: “I just read this out loud to Taron Egerton and he died laughing: ‘That’s the best review I’ve ever gotten’.”

Madden recently revealed that he warned his mother about the raunchy scene after failing to give her a heads up about his sex scene with Keeley Hawes in Bodyguard.

“She got a warning this time,” he told Good Morning America. “She was told it was coming.... not making that mistake again!”

Sir Elton revealed the scene troubled some studios who wanted to tone it down in order to make the film a PG-13, something he refused, saying: “I just haven’t led a PG-13 rated life.”

Writing in the Guardian he said: “I didn’t want a film packed with drugs and sex, but equally, everyone knows I had quite a lot of both during the ’70s and ’80s, so there didn’t seem to be much point in making a movie that implied that after every gig, I’d quietly gone back to my hotel room with only a glass of warm milk and the Gideon’s Bible for company.”
