Tamzin Outhwaite has said she is "really happy" and has "never felt sexier" as she opens up about her life now and the place she was in with ex-husband Tom Ellis.

The 51-year-old actress revealed that while she was with Lucifer star Tom, she was constantly experiencing "some hormonal imbalance" either with childbirth, or when she endured a miscarriage while trying to get pregnant.

Speaking to Gabby Logan on The Mid-Point Podcast, Tamzin recalled candidly: "I feel like there was always some hormonal imbalance going on, with childbirth, or miscarriage or whatever and not going full term with babies.

"So I feel like I was either pregnant, trying to get pregnant, just post-pregnancy for a lot of that marriage. So I wouldn't say that I was the best version of myself."

The former EastEnders star - who has been in a relationship with 30-year-old Tom Child for four years - explained that "she's never felt sexier" because she's "happy" and "comfortable" in her own skin, leading a "complete life" that Tom enhances.

"I really have never felt sexier, and I think that's because [Tom] really gets that about me, that I'm in a stage in my life where I'm really comfortable and I'm really happy," she continued. "And I adore him, we have a wonderful time.

"But if he wasn't around, I wouldn't be in the corner, on the floor, sliding down walls, crying. I would still have my complete life and he just enhances that, and that's what's lovely."

The star has two children with Tom Ellis, Florence, 13, and Marnie, nine. The couple separated married in 2014 after eight years of marriage.

Tamzin is currently starring in Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, which features Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack following eight celebrities as they relocate to the Italian mountains to live in sub-zero conditions.

Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof airs on Tuesdays on BBC One at 9pm, with is available to stream on iPlayer now.
