Royal wedding highlights: The best photos from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's big day in 2011

The countdown is almost over: The week of Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle has finally arrive. At midday on Saturday 19 May, the pair will wed in St George’s Chapel in Windsor in front of 600 loved ones – while millions watch through their TV screens as the ceremony’s broadcast globally. It’s set to be the most watched royal event since the family’s last nuptials: when Prince William married Kate Middleton , as she was known then, in 2011. On April 25 that year, the pair tied the knot in Westminster Abbey in front of 26.3m viewers in the UK alone. Over 5,000 street parties were held and one million people lined the route the couple took from the Abbey to Buckingham Palace.
