Rita Ora hits VMAs red carpet in see-through Jean Paul Gaultier dress

The stars were out in force for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in New York City on Monday night. Rita Ora and Millie Bobby Brown flew the flag for Britain, with Rita wearing an almost entirely see-through mesh dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. The 27-year-old completed her VMAs look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a slicked-back hairdo. Meanwhile, 14-year-old Millie wore a black Rosie Assoulin look, with a crop top. Elsewhere, Jennifer Lopez glittered in a metallic custom Versace dress and Kylie Jenner looked unusually conservative in a belted Tom Ford tuxedo dress. Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick made a special appearance to promote their new film. Blake continued her recent trouser suit trend in a Ralph & Russo number while Anna opted for an embellished mini dress, also by the British design duo. An ode to Tracee Ellis Ross' fearless sense of style

If you don’t follow Diana Ross ‘ daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross, on Instagram, you should. The 45-year-old actress, who currently stars in US comedy series ‘Black-ish’, has accrued quite a following thanks to her activism (she was one of the founders of the Time’s Up movement) and extraordinarily glorious sense of style. Fabulous isn’t a word we use lightly, but it’s the perfect way to sum up Tracee’s wardrobe. This is a woman who will wear it all. One minute she’ll be glittering on the red carpet in a slinky Balmin number and the next she’ll be making a red, satin Valentino tracksuit work. Her looks are bold, unapologetic and creative, but, from time to time, they also help hammer home a point. Case in point: an all-black Marc Jacobs ensemble that she wore as part of the Time’s Up movement’s black dress code to the 2018 Golden Globes. Tracee Ellis Ross is the bold style icon we all need in our lives. From Jaden's dreadlocks to Rihanna's omelette dress, the Met Gala moments we'll never forget

It’s the most prolific event on the fashion calendar. So, it stands to reason that celebrities would go all-out for their annual Met Gala looks. And when we say all-out, we mean all-out. Remember when Will Smith’s son Jaden rocked up with his cut-off dreadlocks as his date ? How about Beyonce’s latex Givenchy gown? Anne Hathaway’s ‘Star Wars’ inspired hooded dress? Madonna, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner had us all talking for days after taking to the red carpet in a series of bottom-baring ensembles and we’ll be hard pressed to ever forget Rihanna’s Guo Pei ‘omelette dress’. ‘American Horror Story’ star Sarah Paulson hit headlines when she stopped to held untangle Madonna’s camouflage netting in 2017 and Solange Knowles took the fashion world by storm when she wore a puffa jacket, complete with puffy train, to the star-studded do the same year. Without further ado, see how many of these Met Gala moments you remember. Follow us on   Instagram  and   Facebook  for non-stop inspiration delivered fresh to your feed, every day. Or perhaps you can’t figure out what to wear because it’s cold outside but no doubt sweltering in your friend’s house. And don’t get us started on what is ‘appropriate’ for your age (everything is appropriate, wear what you want).
