News of Beyoncé’s twin pregnancy has barely started to simmer down, but there’s another debate about the singer that’s getting the Internet in a tizz. When the ‘Lemonade’ star shared some pictures taken over the Oscars weekend, fans couldn’t help but point out her noticeably more plump looking lips, causing some to wonder if Beyoncé had been experimenting with lip fillers. “Where did Beyoncé get her smile line fillers, I need that doctors number,” one fan tweeted.
Winter is always an endless battle between the elements and our dry, chapped lips – and however much lip salve or Vaseline we layer on, it feels like a losing one. According to a few Reddit users, the cause could be something (literally) under our very noses – toothpaste. Redditor dannelinflannel wrote that while chapped lips had been the “bane of my existence since my childhood”, she’d finally found the “magic secret” to cure her ailment.
Just like you mix up your wardrobe seasonally, it’s worth shaking up your make-up game - especially when it comes to your lippy selection. Pack away your favourite coral and orange summer lipstick and treat yourself to a velvety hue, a gorgeous nude or an elegant rose to compliment the new season.
Ladies, hands up if you’ve had to deal with your lipstick from fading and feathering. Long-lasting formulas may stay on a little longer but even they don’t always deliver as promised. Your lipstick will last a lot longer if your lips are soft, smooth and flake-free.

Every woman should have a natural shade of lipstick that she can swipe on without looking in the mirror. When shopping for the perfect no-mirror lip color, I suggest going barefaced. Use your natural lip color (not your skin tone) as a guide for finding your go-to nude shade of lip color. It should enhance your natural lip color without looking too obvious. The most flattering shade will either match or be slightly darker than your lips.
Brown lipstick is making a comeback, like many other ‘90s trends. With brown lipsticks (and other ‘90s trends like lip liner, Manic Panic, and crop tops) flying off retail shelves, I reached out to celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg (she glams up stars like Rashida Jones and Kaley Cuoco) on making brown lipstick look hot, no matter what your skin color. “Brown lipstick was very late ‘80s, early ‘90s and it’s made a big comeback!” says Greenberg. It’s sort of bringing back the trend, but with a cool, new edge.” Greenberg says the key to wearing brown is looking for a shade with a more-wearable undertone rather than a straightforward brown.
Ariana Grande is the 2016 Viva Glam spokesperson. (Photo: MAC Cosmetics) Today MAC Cosmetics announced on Periscope that its new #VIVAGLAM girl for 2016 is Ariana Grande. “There is dark plum lipstick to represent the bad girl in you and a light pink lip gloss to represent the good girl in you, because I think you should play up both sides,” Grande told MAC Cosmetics Periscope viewers, wearing the dark plum lipstick herself. The two yin-and-yang colors will his shelves in January 2016.
The new incarnation of lip gloss is nothing like its sheer, sticky predecessor. From top: MAC Vamplify lipgloss in Push Some Buttons, What’s Going On, She Rebel, Everybody’s Talking, A for Attitude, and Suggestive. Gone are the shimmery, sugary, sheer glosses we associate with Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and that early 2000s Juicy Couture vibe (which I may or may not have been really obsessed with — I’ll let you guess). The new lip glosses are more like liquid lipsticks — highly pigmented, shiny but not too sticky, and much more sophisticated than their prior incarnations.
