    DIET Prosecco to go on sale next year for fizz fans worried about sugar intake

    If you’re a fan of prosecco (and let’s face it, who isn’t), but you’re worried about you’re waistline then you’ll be excited to hear that a diet version is set to go mainstream next year. Skinny Prosecco is already available to buy but you can only pick it up if you are mooching around Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, or eating out in Zizzi’s. The drink is basically your standard prosecco, only with around 7g of sugar per litre - which is about half of your regular version.

    Lovely Bubbly! Prosecco Sales Soar As Middle Classes Binge On Giant Bottles

    Prosecco seems to be the drink of choice on special occasions as sales figures show a booming trade in the sparkling alternative to Champagne. A middle-class rush for the huge 1.5 litre magnum bottles has helped a whopping 140 percentage points increase on bottles of sparkling wine sold this year. The huge increase comes at a cost for Champagne, with only 51,000 magnums sold over the same period.
