It was yet another star-studded evening in California on Sunday, as the industry’s most respected entertainers stepped out for the 21st annual Hollywood Film Awards. Taking place at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the ceremony benefitted the Motion Picture & Television Fund — a charitable organization dedicated to providing various resources amongst the entertainment community — and was hosted by James Corden for the third year in a row.
Angelina Jolie made a rare red carpet appearance at the Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday night. The 42-year-old actress and director was easily one of the best dressed at the star-studded LA event in a dove grey, satin wrap dress by British label Jenny Packham . The mum-of-six finished the look loose curls, red lipstick and subtle jewellery. Other A-listers at the gala included ‘Fifty Shades’ star Dakota Johnson , who went braless in a red trouser suit by Calvin Klein, ‘Big Little Lies’ actress Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet . The latter looked fantastic in a black lace ensemble. Amy Adams glittered in a black gown that she teamed with a tuxedo jacket and Eva Longoria Baston worked a pinstriped wrap dress. Aussie star Margot Robbie was one of the only celebrities who opted to wear a bold print, arriving in a floral Louis Vuitton number. The male stars were equally well dressed. James Franco and Jake Gyllenhaal looked dapper in slick, black suits worn which they both paired with a skinny tie. We love it when celebrities go makeup-free . It’s a #filterfree look into today’s unrealistic beauty standards and gives us a much-needed reminder that no one is perfect. And if you’ve ever wanted to see what your favourite celebs look like underneath all that makeup , well, there’s an app for that. MakeApp allows you to “remove” and “add” makeup to any photo or video. It’s already pretty obvious that Jennifer Lawrence is pretty untraditional but her latest style move proves she also isn’t superstitious. On Thursday night, the actress attended a screening of Faces Places in Hollywood wearing a wedding gown — seriously, it’s actually meant for a bride.

Turning the big 4-0 may scare a lot of us, however these women prove their is no age limit to looking gorgeous. Yes, they may be forty-something but we think these ladies are more inspiring, elegant and beautiful than ever. There we said it.

Photo: Inez and Vinoodh for V Magazine #98 Brad Pitt—who’s old enough to have been an AARP member for an entire year, and yet is still the foxiest dude alive—is on the cover of V Magazine’s Winter 2015/16 issue, channeling another iconic, cinematic hunk: Robert Redford. Photographed by Inez and Vinoodh and styled by David Vandewal, the shoot sees Pitt (who’s already been compared to Redford his entire career) sporting shaggy hair, aviators, boot cut jeans, and what appear to be stick-on muttonchops. If we hadn’t just spent a full 15 minutes ogling over vintage photos of Robert Redford, we might think Pitt was actually him. But V’s Pitt piece is more than just pretty pictures.
