The Swine that Dines set to move months after crowdfunding campaign
A Leeds couple will be closing their popular city centre popular restaurant before moving to a bigger venue - months after a crowdfunding effort financed the move.
The Swine that Dines, an independent Leeds bistro restaurant run by chef couple, Jo and Stu Myers, smashed its crowdfunding goal of £25,000 in just 48 hours in June with help from their happy customers. The couple thanked all the 'wonderful people' who made it possible.
The Leeds city centre restaurant will be closing its North Street branch for the final time on December 21. Details about the new venue haven't yet been revealed - but it won't be opening until after January 2025. Jo and Stu want to take that month 'to make sure everything is tip top and ready for launch'.

The couple announced the news on Instagram. The post reads: "A little update. Our time at the original Swine is coming to an end. The tiny sandwich shop that Stu and I moved into over 12 years ago has been on such a journey, and as our family has evolved so have our plans. Thanks to all you wonderful people.
"At Christmas our last Swine That Dines service at North Street will be on 21st December, so now is your last chance to experience the original Swine before we move into the new place. We're open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (and some Wednesdays!) in December and all those dates and times are bookable on our website.
"We will have news about our new, bigger restaurant in due course. But we will be taking January out to make sure everything is tip top and ready for launch. We promise we'll keep you updated (though if you sign up to our newsletter you'll find out first...)"
The Swine that Dines crowdfunder saw more than 400 people invest from as little as £10 up to £2,200. The current Swine that Dines was seen as too small with only an 18-cover capacity and a tiny kitchen that can only accommodate two chefs and limited fridge and storage space.
The fundraiser in June said the proposed new restaurant space will double its covers to 30 as well as include a private dining room with an additional 15 covers.
