The sweet way Prince Harry kept Archie close during his trip to New York

Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public outing together since welcoming their daughter earlier this year. On Thursday 23 September, the couple visited the One World Trade Centre in New York ahead of their appearance at the Global Citizen Live event.

The pair were both dressed in a darker colour palette for the occasion, with Meghan opting for black trousers, a matching turtleneck, a navy Emporio Armani coat and stiletto heels. The duo looked very chic as they waved to royal fans who gathered in the street to welcome them to the Big Apple. As they posed for a photo, Meghan was overheard saying, "It's wonderful to be back."

Although it's unclear if Harry and Meghan left their two kids, Archie and Lilibet, at their home in California while they were in New York, eagle-eyed fans spotted the sweet way Harry kept his son close while he was on tour.

During their visit to the One World Trade Centre, fans noticed that Harry carried an iPad case, engraved with: "Archie & Papa."

The words are a heartfelt nod to his son, who was born in 2019. The couple announced their son's name on Instagram, along with a photo of the Queen meeting her newest great-grandchild. The post's caption said: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor."

But, it's not the first time the couple have paid tribute to their baby boy. Earlier this year Meghan released her first children's book, dedicated to the unique bond between her husband and Archie.

Speaking about the book, Meghan said: "The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born. That poem became this story. My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with mine."

During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's tour of New York, Meghan stopped by a local school in the neighbourhood of Harlem to give the children a special reading of her book.

The book was released in the UK on 8 June, just four days after the Sussexes welcomed their second child, Lilibet, named after the Queen. Since stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan have not returned to the UK as a couple, meaning Lilibet is yet to meet the Queen. But, the pair have reportedly offered the Queen an olive branch and intend to visit with their daughter over Christmas.
