This year has been quite a big one for spotting the royal children out and about, what with Prince Louis' hilarious antics well and truly stealing the show during the Queen's Jubilee weekend – and now, it seems that Prince William and Kate Middleton are becoming more comfortable with having Prince George tag along with them for other special occasions.

This weekend, the usually very private Cambridge family were seen out together watching the Wimbledon finals, and Prince George donned a smart suit just like his dad (adorable). The family all took a turn chatting to fellow guests, staff and tennis players too, which has left some eagle-eyed royal fans wondering if the Duke and Duchess are now slowly starting to better prepare the eight-year-old for life in the public eye.

During a chat with Novak Djokovic, who triumphed in the Men's Singles final, little Prince George gave the champion a big thumbs up and in response, the athlete let the young royal hold the Gentlemen's Singles Trophy.

Whilst George looked chuffed at this, he also looked a tad concerned due to the weight of the trophy – something his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, immediately cottoned on to and could be seen keeping a watchful eye over (as well as the perilous lid of the infamous award).

At one point, George appears to have turned to Kate and said, "It's a bit heavy!" before she quickly took the trophy off of the youngster (in a move known as 'mum reflexes' perhaps?).

Naturally, royal fans are loving this adorable mother-son bonding moment on Twitter, where a clip of the Cambridges chatting to Djokovic has been viewed almost half a million times:

One person commented upon seeing it, "😂 I love that Prince George passed it on to his mum after it got too heavy" while royal correspondent Rebecca English said: "Really adorable. Prince George’s little double thumbs up, Kate quickly stopping the top of the @Wimbledon trophy from falling off and then his little face - so polite but clearly thinking ‘this is really heavy and I’m terrified I’m going to drop it!’".

A third social media user added, "Imagine being an 8 year old and Djokovic tells you to hold his trophy! Bravo Prince George".

Another royal fan shared: "For me today is all about Prince George Alexander of Cambridge I love that [his] Parents are easing him into his role, And teaching him to respect the dress code. For the ones complaining about suits, he is the future King of England, not your regular boy. So moving on!"

The Duchess also ensured she was on hand to introduce George to members of staff working at the tennis competition, showing him how to shake hands with each person:

Others also compared Prince George's attendance at the match with that of Prince William's as a child, when he accompanied his mother, Princess Diana, to Wimbledon:

Here's hope we'll spot some more heartwarming Cambridge clan moments soon!
