We all know that Halloween is, first and foremost, about the costumes and the candy. But, if—later tonight—you find yourself in dire need of an even sweeter treat, fitness instructor Megan Roup has got you covered.
She took to her Instagram to share a fabulous spooky season Rice Krispies treats recipe perfect for your last-minute holiday preparations. If you’re looking to up your sweet game this year, look no further. After all, what could be better than just another indulgence on the sweetest day of the year?
12 oz. bag marshmallows
6 tbsp. unsalted butter
Orange and purple food coloring
9 c. brown rice crisp cereal
Split half the bag of marshmallows between two bowls.
Add half of the butter to each bowl. Microwave each for one minute, pausing half way to stir the marshmallows until they have melted.
Add orange food coloring to one bowl of marshmallows and purple to the other.
Pour 4 1/2 c. of rice crisp cereal into each bowl, and mix into the marshmallows.
Combine both purple and orange marshmallow and rice crisps on an oiled rectangular baking sheet, alternating the colors.
Use the remaining marshmallows to make webs. Melt them and pull apart until stringy. Place on top of the cereal.
Pour sprinkles over the whole pan.
