Brits still love being by the seaside as picturesque Whitby was the third most popular location for a UK break in 2019, with the average price per night at £38 per person, followed by the Welsh harbour town of Tenby.
After last year's heatwave brought 38.5oC temperatures and the uncertainty of Brexit pushed up demand for UK breaks, 2019 proved a top year for the staycation. Summer 2020 is likely to be another popular time for British escapes as travellers consider their carbon footprint, too.
