Sisters Eugenie and Beatrice may be princesses, but that doesn't necessarily mean they can rock a tiara to Tesco in the morning like it's no big deal.

In fact, if you look back at pictures of the Princesses out and about at events, even fancy ones, you'll spot that there's never a tiara in sight.

Now, we know what you're thinking, if we were royal, we'd sleep in diamonds! So why do Beatrice and Eugenie avoid them?

According to one jewellery expert, the reason is all to do with tradition.

While they could wear one if they wanted to, royal tradition states that tiaras are usually reserved for married royals - and neither of the girls are, yet.

Geoffrey Munn told Town and Country: "any woman may wear one, but ancient tradition has it that they must be a bride or already married."

"The tiara has its roots in classical antiquity and was seen as an emblem of the loss of innocence to the crowning of love. One of the mainstays of European royalty and aristocracy is to do what you have always done and formal dress, jewellery, and tiaras are just part of this."

Can we talk about the 'crowning of love' for a second and swoon at how cute that is?

Anyway, the GOOD news is that with Princess Eugenie's wedding just around the corner we can expect to see her in a tiara very soon.

The jury is still out on which one it might be, but we have a few opinions.
