The Surprising Foods That Fuel Erling Haaland

Manchester City ace, Erling Haaland has disclosed his favourite foods, and they may not be what you think. The Norwegian defender recently broke the Premier League record by scoring his 35th league goal against West Ham, surpassing Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole's previous best of 34 goals.

While a diet high in protein is expected of footballers, Haaland has taken it a step further by making sure his meal plan is full to the brim with a multitude of meats.

In his documentary Haaland: The Big Decision the football superstar revealed a daily diet of heart and liver. 'You don’t eat this, [but] I am concerned with taking care of my body,' says Haaland brandishing frozen packets of offal.

'I think eating quality food that is as local as possible is the most important,' says Haaland. 'A lot of things influence health. For example, people talk about meat not being healthy. Which meat? The meat you get at McDonald’s? Or the local cow eating grass right over there?'

The defender continues to tout the benefits of daily sunlight and shows his complex water filtration system, believing it it can have great benefits for his body.

On top of his penchant for carnivorous foods and filtered water, he enjoys a pre-match meal of lasagne cooked by his father and took to twitter to share another secret to his success.

Haaland has claimed his total daily diet of heart, liver, milk and lasagne amounts to a humble 6000 calories, which he clearly puts to good use with 51 goals scored so far this season.
