These Sundance celeb looks are here to inspire your own winter wardrobe
Unlike other recent red carpets — those at the Grammy Awards, SAGs, or Golden Globes, for example — that of the Sundance Film Festival showed celebrities free of their usual glitzy trappings, who instead wore a range of casual winter outfits.
The annual festival held in Park City, Utah, showcases new films from around the world in a setting where temperatures are typically in the 30s and 40s, forcing stylists to think creatively (and warmly). This year, stars including Claire Danes, Octavia Spencer, and Chrissy Teigen all attended in surprisingly laid-back looks.
Teigen, known for her sexy showstopping gowns, traded in the glam for an oversized black-fringe poncho, skinny leather pants, and gold hoop earrings. Danes, who is promoting her new film, A Kid Like Jake, and has previously worn designer dresses from Armani Privé, Gucci, and Balenciaga, opted for a cozy black-and-white striped sweater, leather pants, and pointy black ankle boots. Oscar winner Spencer swapped her sparkly fairy-tale dresses and pantsuits for a an all-American look featuring a beige military-style pea coat, a striped turtleneck, jeans, and chunky snow boots.
