How to style leggings in the office: 3 celeb-inspired work-to-gym looks
Ah leggings... They're our tried and true, our trusty best friends and the absolute non-negotiable in any fitness fanatic's wardrobe.
And let's be honest, if it was up to us we literally would never be wearing anything else. Well, although society has long looked down on leggings outside of the gym, our day in the sun has finally arrived and it is officially en vogue to style your favourite pair of leggings for the everyday.
Yes, you heard that right, we've officially gotten the celebrity tick of approval to styling your leggings for everything from your next coffee date, heading into the office and even out to dinner, making the struggle of work-gym commitments all the more simple.
You may be thinking to yourself, 'Now, Bella [that’s me, WH’s fashion editor] there is no way you can make leggings work appropriately.' But that’s where I come in. As a fashion editor and dedicated leggings wearer, I've carefully dissected the street style of fashion week attendees and celebs alike to figure out the best ways to style your leggings.
So pull out your favourite pair – it's time to get styling.
How to style leggings in 2025
Big top, little shoes
Ballet flats have been the shoe du jour over the past year, and pairing your favourite flats like our cover star Rochelle Humes (incidentally when she went to go pick up a copy of Women's Health) creates an elegant yet easy-to-style look. In fact, Rochelle's choice of a split-hem legging with flats creates a particularly flattering shape as it opens up at the bottom.
Opting for a longer-line top such as an oversized blazer, buttoned-up coat or oversized top creates this flattering silhouette and offers some more coverage over the bum. Make sure to accessorise with oversized sunglasses, plenty of jewellery and a knit thrown over your shoulders.

Add some height
When Rosie Huntington-Whitely posted her decadent private jet airport outfit on – leggings paired with chic pointed-toe heels – we knew this was a trend to watch. It seems the style of legging to opt for is the old-school stirrup legging, which helps elongate the leg further into the shoe.
Much like with flats, an oversized statement jacket or coat is the perfect pairing. However, you can also go for something more cropped, as the heels already add extra length to the overall shape.

Boots, boots, boots
The last look we love for casual wear with leggings is a pair of knee-high boots. Whether they're flat or heeled, this silhouette creates a flattering shape and is super versatile for every occasion. You can opt for a cropped or longer-line look up top thanks to the high finish on the shoes but consider a more elevated piece to offset any casualness. But if you want a more casual finish: a big oversized hoodie or jacket like Dua Lipa sported, or even Bella Hadid recently in Paris.
