Strictly Come Dancing's Nina Wadia has spoken about the type of criticism she won't accept ahead of the show's launch this weekend.

The former EastEnders actress said she would embrace constructive critiquing that might help her progress in the competition, but she won't be taking any "nasty" or "rude" remarks.

Speaking during a Q&A for the BBC One competition, the star explained: "I've been told one bit of advice is to take it. Stand there and take it. As long as it's not too rude and insulting, I'll probably do that.

"Truth be known, if it’s actually constructive, I'll take it. If it's actually something specific and nasty for no apparent reason, I won't take it."

Wadia will make her debut on the dance-floor on Saturday alongside fellow celebs including Robert Webb, CBBC's Rhys Stephenson, EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, Dragons' Den's Sara Davies, Corrie's Katie McGlynn, and The Crown's Greg Wise.

The line-up also features 2012 Bake Off winner John Whaite, McFly's Tom Fletcher, broadcaster Dan Walker, presenter AJ Odudu, social media influencer Tilly Ramsay, Loose Women's Judi Love, Olympian Adam Peaty and Rugby player Ugo Monye.

Returning professional dancers include Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton Du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Nancy Xu, and Neil Jones.

Kai Widdrington, former Let’s Dance Germany professional Nikita Kuzmin, reigning South African Latin Champion Cameron Lombard, and Poland's Jowita Przystal are the four additional dancers joining the line-up.

Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, and Motsi Mabuse will be back on the judging panel, along with Anton Du Beke, who is replacing Bruno Tonioli.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be returning as hosts.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday, September 18th.
