Strictly's AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington respond to romance rumours
Strictly Come Dancing fans were predicting the first romance of the season for AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington thanks to their impressive chemistry, and the pair have now addressed the speculation.
After killing it with their routine during week one, AJ and Kai were overheard saying "I love you" during week two on Saturday [9 October 2021.] So, does that mean they're more than friends?
During an appearance on Strictly: It Takes Two, presenter Janette Manrara asked the question we've all been waiting for.
Probing AJ and Kai on whether they share a "deeper connection, she said, "Speaking of romance and the characters, you were both saying you wanted to bringing romance to the floor and I think you really did because Kai you said this at the end of the performance..." referencing the 'I love you' viewers overheard.
"Here we go...," Kai responded, before Janette replied, ""Do you find that you're getting a bit of a deeper connection in this partnership?"
Kai replied: "I think that was all down to just the tough, tough week that we had and the fact that we got to the end of the performance and it was flawless and you smashed it, and you did all the lifts brilliant, did all the technique perfect."
"We were both just relieved, you were just gripping onto my neck!" AJ chimed in.
Hmm. So that's not a no, right?
This comes as a source at The Sun claimed the romance was very much hotting up, commenting: "Everyone backstage is talking about the sparks flying between AJ and Kai. It’s very passionate and intense whenever they’re together.
"They’re both single and have really hit it off and everyone on the show is saying it’s only a matter of time. They’re always laughing and flirting — romance is 100% on the cards."
Only time will tell, eh?
