Strictly winners Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice share cute reunion
Strictly Come Dancing champions Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice reunited for a meal over the weekend.
Less than a month on from that sweet ballroom victory, the EastEnders actress and Italian professional dancer showed their Instagram followers that they're still as close as ever, sat across from each other at a restaurant.
"Nice catch up," read Giovanni's caption on his Instagram Stories, with the pair adopting their trademark 'stern' faces that became a running joke through their social media posts during the series.
Back in November, Rose reflected on her history-making stint on Strictly, as she became the first-ever deaf contestant.
"I don't want this to be a case of, 'She was on it, so we've done that now.' It needs to be, 'She did this, now let's hire more people with disabilities in this industry.' I am just one person. We are still behind when it comes to diversity and inclusion."
Questioned on whether she knew online searches for 'learn sign language' had massively increased, the soap star admitted that this was motivating her each week.
"I love it when someone gets in touch to tell me about a child who was self-conscious about signing but now wants to learn more, or children who'd hidden their hearing aids but are now wearing their hair up to show it off. It's like being deaf is cool now!
"I hope that by seeing me on TV, they see that they really can do anything they want to because I didn't have that growing up," she went on to conclude.
Strictly Come Dancing will return on BBC One later this year.
