Strictly Come Dancing winner Harry Judd had a painful accident during ITV's new celebrity cooking show, slicing off the end of a fingertip.

The McFly star had been filming the yet-to-air Cooking with the Stars when medical assistance was called on set following the nasty incident.

Host Emma Willis explained (via The Sun): "He cut himself within the first two minutes – the first chop he made he took the end of his little finger off.

"He did his cooking racing towards the end, adrenaline pumping – he plated everything up, kind of stood back and just took it all in.

"Because of the pressure they were trying to do everything too quickly. And they had professional knives, which they've never handled before, so there was a lot of nicks and cuts."

It sounds like Harry wasn't the only one to suffer an injury, with some of the fellow contestants also getting into knife-related mishaps.

"Johnny Vegas cut himself at the start and Shirley [Ballas] too, and Denise [Van Outen] can't use sharp knives, so she used blunt knives for everything," Emma added.

Cooking with the Stars will see each celebrity paired with a professional chef who will assist them with a series of challenges, but also potentially boot them out.

Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley, TV presenter AJ Odudu, comedian and actor Griff Rhys-Jones and DJ and songwriter Naughty Boy will also take part in the series, which is co-hosted by Tom Allen.

Cooking with the Stars starts Tuesday, July 13 at 9pm on ITV.
