Strictly star Oti Mabuse praised as she shares 'tough' weight loss journey after daughter's birth
Oti Mabuse has given an insight into her impressive weight loss journey over the last two months as she has dropped down to a size 10 since welcoming her baby girl at the end of 2023. The dancer and TV personality, who announced on Christmas Day that she had welcomed her first child, took to Instagram to share a video showing snippets of her journey where she was seen hitting the gym and working to fit into a pair of jeans.
The star - who suffered a traumatic labour last year - admitted that the reason behind her decision to lose weight is her upcoming dance tour, Viva Carnival, which kicks off in June 2025. Alongside the video, which was filmed over a couple of months, Oti wrote: "This journey has been one of the toughest but most beautiful experiences of my life. When I decided to go on tour, I knew that the first step wasn’t just about rehearsals, it was about changing my mindset, my diet, and how I physically feel.
"Coming from a size 18 to a size 10 wasn’t just about the number on the scale— it was about *feeling* stronger, healthier, and more alive. After my pregnancy, dealing with gestational diabetes meant I had to be even more mindful of my health, especially being pre-diabetic. So I started to change how I approached food, movement, and how I looked at my own body."

Continuing that she is losing weight to feel stronger in herself, she added: "This journey isn’t about getting “skinny.” It’s about gaining strength, confidence, and discipline in a way that feels sustainable and true to me. And honestly? It hasn’t been easy. Changing lifelong habits, trying new foods, pushing my body in ways I never have before— it’s been hard work. But the results? Wow. To see my body transform, not just in shape, but in how it feels... that’s a win every day. I’m proud of where I am, at whatever size, and I want every woman to feel that sense of pride too."
Fans praised the star for being so open and honest about her journey, while Oti concluded by involving her 705K followers in the journey, Oti finished: "This isn’t just my journey. It’s MY journey. I would love for you to come along with me—to feel empowered, to feel strong, and to live life fully! Let’s celebrate together our beautiful road to health.
