The head judge has told fans she’s been feeling "under the weather" after appearing to pick up a mystery illness on her recent trip to Rome.
Now back at home, Ballas is making sure she’s saving her energy in an attempt to be better for Saturday night’s show.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (September 20), Ballas updated fans on her health.
"I think I’ve caught something," she began. "So, not very well today. Not in work but want to rest and make sure I’m ready for Strictly on Saturday.
"To anyone else feeling under the weather, I’m sending you lots of love and cuddles."
Explaining why she’s so determined to recover in time for the first live show of Strictly’s season 21, Ballas insisted the standard of the contestants this year is very high.
"I’m really excited about Saturday," she remarked. "Oh my gosh, wait till you see this show. It is phenomenal.
"I think actually all of them will be staying until the final, they’re all that good."
Thankfully Ballas is confident she won’t be out of action for too long as she has her mum on hand to aid her recovery process.
"Feeling poo poo, but mum makes you two boiled eggs in your favourite little pot," she said. "What would I do without my mum? I feel blessed."
During the programme, Ballas also showed off her impressive performance skills as she took part in a special routine with her fellow Strictly judges and professional dancers.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday nights on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights from September 25 on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
