Strictly Come Dancing's Ranvir Singh topped the scoreboard this weekend after receiving the most points of any contestant of the series so far.

The Good Morning Britain host and dance partner Giovanni Pernice wowed the judges with their Dream Girls-inspired Foxtrot on Saturday's Movie Night, receiving three nines from Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.

Reacting to her high score, the presenter appeared on GMB this morning via videolink, telling hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid: "It's down to Giovanni, he pushes me really hard... And it's quite overwhelming really, as you're trying your best and he's saying, 'I want a little bit more from you'. All the time he wants a little bit more, and then that happens."

She continued: "It was a total shock. I mean, I wasn't expecting that at all. I've watched it over a couple of times just to make sure that actually happened. It doesn't feel realistic to me."

The star also revealed she was on her way to rehearse the Cha Cha Cha ahead of her performance this weekend – with a stop off to get plasters for her feet.

Strictly saw sports broadcaster Jason Bell and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk leave the competition this week after judges voted to save boxer Nicola Adams and her partner Katya Jones after their dance-off.

Jason is the second celebrity to be eliminated from the series.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday (14 November) on BBC One.
