Strictly Come Dancing's 2020 line-up is official, confirmed, and locked in. It's public knowledge – and, by extension, that means host Claudia Winkleman finally knows who's taking part.
Because according to "leaky" Claudia, she is always "the last person to know".
The Strictly co-host revealed all on The One Show yesterday (5 October), admitting that she's no longer entrusted with the top-secret celebrity line-up until it's released to the press, following an incident in 2006.
Claudia, who was presenting Strictly spin-off It Takes Two at the time, recalled the full extent of her slip-up.
"They brought me in and they said, 'We're going to give you the list, and we're going to give it to you quite early, but you can't tell a single soul'," she explained. "I was like, 'Of course I won't.'"
Reader, she did.
"They told me the names and then I went off with my little backpack and I got in the lift and someone said, 'Oh, don't you do the sister show, who's taking part?'," Claudia continued.
"And I told them the whole [line-up]. I was like 'This, this, this, and this, and won't they be good if they danced with so and so?'"
"Now they tell me nothing," she added, before revealing that even bandleader Dave Arch is told the list of celebrity contestants before she is.
"They bring in Tess, they take Dave Arch to one side and say 'This is who's doing it', and then they'll tell me pretty much after the press."
We think it's probably for the best, Claudia.
Strictly Come Dancing will return for an all-new series later this year on BBC One.
