Strictly Come Dancing spoilers follow for the Week 2 results show.
The former Home Secretary had the least dance experience out of all of the celebrities taking part on the show this year, but Anton called her improvement over the last few weeks a "tremendous achievement".
Anton wrote on Twitter: "Ah @Jacqui_Smith1, didn't we have a ball! Over so soon, my love, but what a transformation from the launch show in just a few short weeks - such a tremendous achievement! Thank you for being a truly marvellous partner - promise me you’ll keep dancing! Anton XX."

She and Anton were up against Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing and partner Karen Hauer in the dance-off before being voted out by the judges. Jacqui and Anton performed their Samba to Tom Jones' 'Help Yourself', while Jamie and Karen danced their American Smooth to 'Night and Day' by Frank Sinatra.
Anton was responding to Jacqui's tweet, in which she said: "Thank you @bbcstrictly for giving me the adventure of a lifetime. I’m sorry I couldn’t have continued it with the amazing @TheAntonDuBeke but happy for all those amazing and lovely dancers. Good luck to them all. Your country needs you and Strictly."
After being voted out, Jacqui thanked everybody who worked on Strictly for their efforts in putting the show on during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying: "I don't think people realise just how brilliant the team is that puts this programme together and if ever we need Strictly, we need it now, so thank you so much."
Anton added that he has "loved every second" of dancing with Jacqui.
"We have laughed, you have a shocking sense of humour, I can't begin to tell you," he said to Jacqui. "You are just the best and I've loved it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
The results show also featured a spectacularly spooky dance routine by the show's team of professional dancers to mark Halloween, as well as a musical performance by singer Sam Smith, who performed their new single 'Diamonds'.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday (7 November) on BBC One.
