Strictly Come Dancing 2021 has officially crowned its winners: EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, who walked away with the coveted glitter ball on Saturday [18 December].

The response to the deaf actress's win was heartwarming, with many praising the Strictly final as the most diverse yet. Others were keen to find out more about Rose and her background, including any insights into her relationship.

So, who is Rose Ayling-Ellis's boyfriend?

Rose and boyfriend Samuel Arnold have been together for seven years, according to MailOnline, and tend to keep their relationship incredibly private. In fact, he wasn't spotted in the Strictly crowd until the final, when he was seen clapping in sign language and jumping for joy after her performance, alongside her mum Donna.

Rose has shared small insights into their life on Instagram over the years, including a trip to Peru in 2019 and their six year anniversary in 2020. Rose wrote at the time, "Six years we’ve been together and I still don’t find you annoying" while Samuel added, "I still find you the most funniest, beautiful and super cool girlfriend I ever asked for.

"You are a true badass girlfriend."

Hello say Samuel is also deaf. Both he and Rose were recently photographed with dance partner Giovanni at dinner to celebrate her 27th birthday in mid November.

Speaking about her time on the show to the Guardian, Rose said it had “been life-changing. I try not to think about it ending too much because it makes me feel really sad. I feel more confident. On the first week, I was really shy, but now I can be myself, and I definitely feel more comfortable in my own skin.

"The first week, I was like, ‘Everyone’s going to be expecting a deaf person to dance really badly.’” She smiles. “But I definitely proved a lot of people wrong."

Yes, Rose!
