Stop Everything! The McRib Is Back On The McDonald’s Menu

Great news, McDonald’s fans! The McRib is officially returning to the McDonald’s menu, and we are positively ecstatic, to put it lightly.

The McRib made its debut 40 years ago and quickly became a fan-favourite thanks to the unmistakable flavour of the seasoned boneless pork patty slathered in BBQ sauce and topped with slivered onions and tart dill pickles, all on a homestyle bun.

Did you know that the McRib made its debut in Kansas City, USA in 1981 and was brought to life by a former McDonald’s President and Executive Chef? We’d love to shake that chef’s hand…

Mike Bullington, Senior Archives Manager at McDonald’s, says: “In the 80s, the masterminds behind McDonald’s food innovation had a truly unique idea: an undeniably delicious sandwich that could be enjoyed during the colder seasons.

“Whether you’re a McRib loyalist or first timer, there is no denying that the McRib is one of the most iconic sandwiches of the last four decades and we have thousands of emails and tweets from fans to prove it.”

So, you’re probably wondering when you can get your greedy little fingers on a McRib. Well, alas, you still have a little while to wait. The McRib will be back on the McDonald’s UK menu from 1 November, and it will only be around for a limited time, so don’t hang about!
